The Durban University Of Technology City Campus was visited by the Students Representatives Council yesterday. This comes after a lot of complains from the City Campus students saying that the SRC only visit them when they wants their votes.
The Sasco member Mr Philani Mlambo (JZ) told the students that SASCO will never leave out the City Campus students because they are part of DUT. He also said that they had had hard times because of changes that were happening within the organisation, so they will make sure that the students get that attention they deserve.JZ also argue the City Campus students to participate to all SRC activities because if they dont it will be difficult get the information across.
The City Campus students complain about being the last campus to recieve the information about any event that is taking in the university. Some students mentioned that if they can have the information centre in this campus their life will be very easy.
The SRC promised the students that they will be opening an office in city campus to make things easier for them to access information and also to forward their complains to their representatives.
Many complains from students were about poor services from their respective departments. Issues such as the Lab closing early, computers being physically present but not systematically and the issue of residential for students. Mr Mlambo promised the students that all their problems will be sorted out very soon and he also argued the students to go and excercise their right and vote on the 22 April.
